Inter Art Center New Documentaries Prize

is to discover, encourage, and provide support to lens-based artists concerned with social change and minority groups, and offer opportunities to creatively expand the boundaries of documentary photography. The prize is open to artists who have legal Chinese citizenship and is offered annually.

The final selection of the prize goes to three branches: 1 Inter Art Center New Documentaries Prize (with a grant of 150,000 RMB, approx. 22,880 USD) and 5 Inter Art Center Excellent Prizes (with a grant of 20,000 RMB, approx. 3,050 USD); 1 Inter Art Center Alpa Prize winner will be selected from the 5 Excellent Prize winners and get one-year usufruct of an Alpa camera. The prize winners will be announced at the opening of the exhibition and the grants of total 250,000 RMB will be given to support the artists’ further practice.

Country Road: Chinese Ethnic Minority Photography Prize

is to discover Chinese ethnic minority photographers with deep love for their peoples, to encourage their creative practice stemmed from their culture and life, and to offer support for the development of Chinese ethnic minority photography and moreover, the pluralistic development of Chinese native culture. The prize is open to Chinese ethnic minority photographers over 18 years old and is offered every two years.

Two awards are announced by the jury at the opening of the exhibition; a prize of 50,000 RMB (approx. 7,400 USD) is given to the Best Photographer, and a prize of 30,000 RMB (approx. 4,440 USD) to the Best Young Photographer.
